Dubrovnik & Hvar Harbors

Hvar Town

DUBROVNIK – GRUŽ   HARBOR

Dubrovnik has its own commercial harbor called Gruž . This is where the large ocean liners and small ships dock. It is a 10-minute drive from the Old Town. With all our cruises, there is a one-way coach transfer in place to get you from the ship in Gruž Harbor to the Old Town. At the end of the guided tour of Dubrovnik Old Town, many of our guests spend more time exploring the Old Town or city walls on their own and often stay in the Old Town for dinner. Getting back to the ship is very easy as taxis are readily available from the Pile Gate entrance to the Old Town and cost around €10 – €15 for this trip. There are also buses that run frequently between the harbor and Old Town which cost €3.

HVAR – HVAR TOWN

As one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic, Hvar is very popular, especially during the summer months. The port of Hvar is also one of the busiest in Croatia with catamarans arriving and departing hourly from 6am to 8pm. As space in the harbor is needed for catamarans to dock, the small ships we operate cannot dock for any extended period during the day. Therefore, you will arrive in Hvar in the mid-afternoon where the ship can temporarily dock to allow guests to disembark. Once all the passengers have disembarked, the ship will drop anchor offshore until about 8:30pm when the ships are allowed to return into the port of Hvar and dock for the night.

As most the restaurants in Hvar offer outdoor seating, the dress code is generally casual, particularly in the warm summer months. The ship will be docked in the port from 9pm onwards and you are welcome to board the ship again.

HVAR – STARI GRAD

Stari Grad sits to the north of Hvar Island and is around a 20-minute drive from Hvar Town. Stari Grad was originally founded by the ancient Greeks and is one of Europe’s oldest towns. The charming pedestrian-only town was once the island’s capital and features a stunning protected bay. There are no crowded beaches or streets packed with cafes, shops, and restaurants here, inviting a more tranquil alfresco dining experience. Instead you can meander through the peaceful ancient streets and squares and discover hidden gems at your own pace.
