Health & Safety in Croatia

Heart Island Croatia

SAFETY

Croatia is a very safe country but as with most popular European destinations, petty theft and pickpocketing can occur, especially in crowded areas in big cities like Split, Zagreb, or Dubrovnik. When enjoying nightlife don’t accept free drinks from people you don’t know and pay upfront at the bar rather than keeping a tab.

DRINKING WATER IN CROATIA

Tap water is drinkable and of good quality throughout Croatia and the vast majority of Croatians drink tap water.

WATER ON BOARD

Tap water on board the ship is safe to drink and good quality. As it is of a different mineral quality to what you may be used to back home, we do provide complimentary filtered water on board. The filtered water is available from 7am to midnight in the ship’s main salon area. For security reasons, we lock the main salon area after midnight. We advise clients to fill up their water bottles before bed, should they wish to keep hydrated throughout the night.

SEA SICKNESS

As our ships travel along the coastline, no more than a mile or two offshore, you are always in sight of land or a nearby island. Sea sickness is therefore generally rare on board our vessels, as the array of islands dotted along the coast also protect the coastline of bad weather and rough seas.
