Life On Board The Ship

MV Bellissima

GUEST MIX

The ships have a maximum capacity of 40 passengers, and with 8 members of crew you will find that the service on board is truly personal. The captain and crew will soon know each of you on a first name basis, and you’ll be in the company of like-minded travel enthusiasts within an extremely sociable atmosphere. There is usually a varied international mix of guests, but predominantly from the UK, Australia, North America and South Africa, with many interesting travel experiences and tales to tell. However, everyone’s privacy is respected, and the crew and fellow passengers are extremely unobtrusive. By the end of the cruise, lifelong friendships are often born, as you have shared amazing experiences together.

DRESS CODE

Our cruises are informal, and guests are dressed casually. We suggest smart/casual evening wear for the captain’s dinner (jacket and tie not required.) We would also advise you to bring comfortable footwear for sightseeing excursions, and a lightweight windbreaker/ jacket for possible cooler evenings. We also recommend that you try your best to pack lightly, although there is space to store your suitcases under the bed and additional wardrobe hanging space.

CRUISE DIRECTOR

We have hand-picked the finest team of Cruise Directors in Croatia, who have been selected for their professionalism, enthusiasm, organisational skills and passion for the country. Your Cruise Director will meet and greet you on arrival and you will get to know them throughout the trip, whilst they ensure the general smooth running of the cruise. The Cruise Director may also arrange for some optional lectures on topical subjects, such as the history of the region to Croatian gastronomy.

ITINERARY

Each day, your Cruise Director will advise you of the itinerary planned for the following day. This will be communicated via a whiteboard within the restaurant area. The ship is likely to set sail early in the morning, reaching the overnight stop location mid-afternoon on most days, leaving plenty of time for the pre-arranged guided tours and free time on shore to explore the delights of Croatia.

In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, the captain may choose to alter the itinerary for the comfort and safety of passengers. The captain may also alter the sequence of stops and ports, due to high or low water levels, dock and lock schedules, and for other technical reasons. Although we expect to provide sightseeing of all of the major attractions listed in our cruise itineraries, there is always a possibility that the sequence may be altered due to the operating hours at museums, galleries and monuments.

SEA SICKNESS

As our ships travel along the coastline, no more than a mile or two offshore, you are always in sight of land or a nearby island. Sea sickness is therefore generally rare on board our vessels, as the array of islands dotted along the coast also protect the coastline of bad weather and rough seas.

SMOKING

Smoking is permitted on board, but only at the very front of the ship, away from other passengers. We ask that any smoking clients are respectful of this to ensure harmony on board.

NOISE LEVELS

From midnight, there is a no-noise policy on board. At times, the ship may be docked for the night in lively ports of call, especially in the months of July and August. You may therefore experience a certain level of noise coming from the shore, as well as other boats in the harbor. You might prefer to sleep with the air-conditioning on and the windows closed.
